SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 32:17: “Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.”

PURPOSE: Turner Christian Academy exists to serve homeschooling families.

MISSION STATEMENT (Vision): Our Mission is first and foremost to serve Jesus Christ and to obey Him. We believe that the Bible instructs parents to be responsible for their children including their character and their knowledge, specifically their education. We believe that Turner Christian Academy’s mission is to minister to home schooling families by providing a Private School to assist parents to achieve their God given responsibility to their children.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION: TCA has a philosophy of education that includes three points that lead students to significance and success. They are:

1) We homeschool to help our students become Godly people of Character. We believe this is done best within the home by parents by instilling their religious beliefs about God and devotion to Jesus Christ in their students until they have their own faith that will drive their Godly Character.

2) We homeschool to help our students become life-time learners. We believe that parents can best create an environment to stimulate learning within the student that becomes a way of life and adds joy and contentment to their existence—especially if the Word of God is a primary object of their learning.

3) We homeschool because in Jeremiah 29:11 it tells us that God has a plan for our lives—not for calamity but to give us a future and a hope. It is God’s plan for the student and not our own. It is not even the student’s plan for their own life. It is the duty of the parents to teach the children to desire God’s plan and will for their lives so they will find satisfaction in their significance and success in their lives.

If you choose to use another calendar, you need to submit a copy of this to the school.

Length of the school year: Between 180 and 200 days

Quarters: Divide the school year into 4ths with each approximately 45-50 days long

First Semesters: Begin the first semester in August or September and end in January

Second Semester: Begin the second semester in January and go until May or June
